The Infection Prevention and Control is designed to help you and your business understand how to prevent and control infection and why it is important to do so.
The course begins by teaching the different pathogens that cause infection. It then outlines how infections occur, the factors that can make a person more vulnerable to infection and the steps you can take to prevent infections from occurring. Learn how your own health and hygiene could pose a risk to people that you care and support for and understand the procedures that should be followed to reduce risks when dealing with hazardous spills, waste and linen.
Finally, you will learn about the legal requirements relating to infection prevention and control, and your and other people’s responsibilities.

What is Infection Prevention and Control?
Infection Prevention and Control is a practical solution, based on a scientific approach, to prevent the harm caused by infection to both patients and health workers. Infections and infectious diseases are a major cause of illness and death. Infectious diseases can spread. As with all illnesses, prevention is better than cure.
